How do you continue to meet the growing demands of aircrafts? And if the demand is for world’s best selling airplane then the demand becomes more significant.

So To fulfill these demands Boeing has decided to increase their production rate.For this Boeing CO. Has started using a New Automated System to build Wing panels for 737 jetliners,an crucial step in preparing to hit record production speeds.

Boeing started the production of wings with the new Automated system or Robotic system ,Known as Panel Assembly Line,or PAL  by replacing older-generation machines.

Reason why Boeing starts using PAL for their wings

PAL  Helps in increasing production rate by 33 percent.Earlier older-machines drilled the panels and left holes for the workers to install rivets  which was the laborious process that led to occasional injuries and Defects and also it is very time consuming.

The function of Panel Assembly Line is to drill the holes and install rivets in lesser time period.PAL is designed in such a way that it reduces injuries and slash defects by 66 percent.

Hence to reduce production time and increases the rate of production Boeing decided to use new automated system PAL for producing the 737 wings.

Boeing believes that with this technology airplane production will increase from 47 to 52 a month as it boost production rate.

PAL or Panel Assemble Line is the new automated system or Robotic system that is used by Boeing to increase  production of the 737 wings.

PAL is the Blue machine weighing 60-ton looking similar to futuristic car wash that glides silently on hidden rails over a wing panel held in a jig inside the factory.The machine zips holes into the metal wing panel  with a little hiss sound and install rives in that holes by connecting pieces known as stringer what will become the bottom surface of a wing.

There are five machines installed in the plant with the planned to install 8 and one more as a spare.They replace older machines made by Gemcor.
